Jamie Martira - Breastfeeding and Infant Care Educator, Going Back to Work Coach
I’m a birth and postpartum doula in training (DONA), breastfeeding counselor, and going back to work coach. I spent 11 years in Marketing and it wasn’t until the birth of my first niece and the birth of my first child that I realized my passion to learn more about women’s bodies and what we go through before, during, and after birth. Spending time with my sister and niece during and after her birth helped me to understand the village it truly does take to bring a child into this world. It was so beautiful to watch their bond develop over that first month and the help I was able to provide to support her was such an uplifting experience for me. After the birth of my son and the support I received from Karla and Narchi, my passion for wanting to help families the way they helped me began to unfold. With my own breastfeeding struggles, I found an interest to understand more about breastfeeding and hope to bring my knowledge and experience to other new moms. Finally, when I went back to work after maternity leave I realized how difficult it was to balance my new life as a mom and my career and found how little support there is for that later postpartum period. I’ve spent the last two years exploring my passion for childbirth and postpartum and learning everything I can to support families. I feel so grateful that my life’s experiences have brought me to this point where I have found my calling. My goal is to provide a supportive, nurturing, comforting, and positive environment for your family. I will empower you to trust your instincts and your body and help you feel comfortable in this beautiful new stage of your life.
