Vickie

Birth and Postpartum Doula

My name is Vickie and I am a DONA-trained Birth and Postpartum Doula and a Certified Lactation Counselor. My role is to encourage, support and empower families as they navigate the transitions from pregnancy, through labor and birth and into parenthood.

The transition to becoming a parent is an exciting, overwhelming, stressful and joyful time. There are so many new choices and decisions to make and it is hard to know what sources to trust and what decisions to make. I want to hold space for families to navigate this time. While there is so much “advice”, I want to help families tap into what they want and help them advocate for that. I want to support families to trust their instincts and to help them achieve what is best for them.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn and received my B.A in Economics from Williams College. I also hold a M.S. in Teaching from Pace University. Prior to entering the birth world, I was a teacher and school administrator for a decade. I reside in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn with my husband and my one year old daughter.
