Tiombe is a mother of two children, a boy and a girl. She is native Californian who has been living in New York for the past twenty years. She brings a laid back California vibe to her work.
Tiombe has over 20 years of experience as both a birth and postpartum doula and is DONA certified in both areas. She originally started as a postpartum doula while assisting many of her friends who had babies and from this experience she knew this was what she wanted to make her career. Then becoming a first time mother in her late 30’s she had a birth doula and postpartum doula of her own. Tiombe truly appreciated all of the support and care she received from her doulas. She is a true believer in the positive effects of receiving doula support.
Tiombe provides overnight services to allow the parents to rest knowing that their babies are cared for whether they are exclusively breastfed or formula fed. She has successfully sleep trained many babies at the two month mark, when requested by parents. Tiombe believes that every family, regardless of its makeup, should be supported through their birth and postpartum journey. She provides her families with evidence based, unbiased information so that they can make informed choices. Tiombe is a big advocate of self-care for the entire family. She will gladly do light housework and meal preparation so that the family unit can have time for themselves to rest, acclimate and recover both mentally and physically.
“Tiombe was essential in helping our family through the postpartum period. Before having our first baby, we couldn’t have imagined how much of a difference she would make in our lives. After the birth, she stepped up to take care of our baby, our selves, our pets, and our apartment—and therefore, our physical and mental health. Besides her warm and caring personality, one of Tiombe’s best attributes as a doula is that she knows how to anticipate our needs before we even realize it ourselves—which is an essential skill during a period when even everyday speech can feel like too big of a task. Almost miraculously, she made giving birth during a pandemic feel manageable—and joyful.” – Mary and Christian
