“ The postpartum support is beyond words. Our society does not do justice to how hard the postpartum journey can be. It’s a beautiful time, but a solid support system is paramount and our doulas helped to provide that. They recognize for you (especially newbie first-time moms) how much it is needed. I had no idea what to expect and what this beautiful journey would entail as a novice. It was wonderful to have trained and knowledgeable loving doulas by our side pre and post the birth of our precious daughter. ”
The Details
If budget allows, we recommend 6–8 weeks of daytime support to help you through early milestones—like hormonal shifts, fussy periods, partner going back to work and establishing sleep rhythms.
Daytime visits start at 3 hours, with a minimum of 18 hours per doula. Rates range from $40–$75/hr, depending on experience.
Doulas aren’t able to commit to visits on particular days of the week or times of day and schedule week to week for flexibility, as they also attend births and prioritize families needing immediate support.
We also suggest a 2-hour prenatal session to tour your space and create a personalized postpartum plan with your doula.
All doulas are background-checked and up to date on Tdap.
Postpartum doulas receive education on the physical and emotional recovery process after birth, infant feeding (breast, bottle, formula), lactation process, infant care, infant development in the early months, parenting philosophies, perinatal mood disorders, standards of postpartum support practice, and more!
