Genevieve is a Certified Full-Spectrum Doula trained by Doula Trainings International and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), as well as a LacPro trained by Go Milk Yourself. With experience in Comforting Touch and her background in coaching, Genevieve supports people through the monumental life experience of birth with power, freedom, and ease regardless of what happens along the way. Genevieve will take care of you in all aspects of your pregnancy and birth period while listening for what you really want. Before birth, she’ll help you fine tune your birth preferences and prepare your support team for your ideal birth experience. During birth, if anything comes up that deviates from your desires, she is an expert at slowing down the situation, explaining your options, and helping you make powerful choices.

For her birth clients, Genevieve supports new parents transition into postpartum in learning to trust their instincts and learn their baby’s cues. Genevieve has a lot of experience helping new parents feed their babies from their bodies, and she includes basic lactation support for all her birth clients.

She spent twelve years living abroad, most notably in the Netherlands where home birth is the norm - this has influenced her greatly as a doula. She also lived in Japan and studied in Spain and France. Along with being multilingual (fluent Dutch, intermediate Spanish, and conversational French and Japanese), Genevieve has a special capacity to be with people from all backgrounds. She is culturally competent and supportive of LGBTQIA+ families as well as solo parents.

  • “Genevieve was such a pleasure to work with, and I am so happy she was part of my son’s birth. I could not recommend her more to be your doula. She was a source of great information and gave me a great sense of constant comfort, not only to me but to my husband as well. She was very communicative throughout my labor and aftercare. I can’t thank her enough!”

  • “These first few weeks after birthing a human have been (knock on wood) fortunately really enjoyable – not as scary as I thought – and that is largely in part to being able to lean on my doula, Genevieve. I’m one of those personalities that I think I have to do things on my own, super hyper independent, I don’t want to burden anyone, but Genevieve has been really great at being there, being that force that when I need to tap into someone, when I have questions, answers them, is very clear, concise, gets me answers if she doesn’t know it off the top of her head (in a super fast manner!), but Gen is also really great at reminding me to ask for help, to lean on other people, to have people help me with anything from washing the dishes to her great shoulder massages – just knowing that I have another person there has been really helpful to get through these first few weeks.”

  • “Genevieve and I connected literally hours before my son’s birth last week, and I could not recommend her more than I will here. She was a steady rock and source of comfort during my long, unexpected induction last week. She advocated for me in all the right ways, and helped me stay focused on my goal of a VBAC for my son. She was responsive and just the right addition to my birth team. She’s also a wealth of knowledge. I’m happy to connect more with anyone who has questions or would like more details. ”

  • "We connected with Genevieve when I was 33 weeks pregnant and even though this was our second child - and my second time having natural childbirth - we felt less prepared than we felt the first time. We already had a child, and we were living through the pandemic, so I was working and parenting full time, so I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare myself for childbirth. Within just a couple of weeks of working with Genevieve I felt mentally prepared, I felt physically prepared. She also helped us sort through a lot of practical things, such as getting my hospital bag sorted, and that was great. Being mentally ready in particular was important to me, and I really felt prepared to have my baby when I did go into labor. A lot of the things she said to me while I was in labor (and sometimes having a tough time with the hospital personnel) came back to help me through that process. I highly recommend her, she made all the difference in my birthing experience the second time around, and I would definitely use her again if we decide to have a third."

  • "Genevieve was excellent, she was with Daniela and myself every step of the way. She's great at reminding you of your birthing plan because you're under pressure when the time comes. She's there for you every step of the way. And after the baby was born, she was still with us for a couple more weeks and always available when we needed her. So I'd recommend Genevieve to anyone."
