  • " The difference between doing it ourselves and having Marta there was the difference between day and night. Initially we were going to just have her come a few hours in the daytime but being new parents we did not realize how difficult nights with a newborn would be. Marta made our experience much more tolerable and pleasant. I did not realize how difficult sleep deprivation would be until I went through it. I would describe having an overnight postpartum doula as being luxurious. It takes away a lot of the stress and hardship of having a newborn. Having more sleep has a big effect on your mental well being. Because I was breastfeeding, I would spend one hour, every other hour, feeding, pumping, cleaning the parts and trying to put the baby back to sleep. To save that extra time made a big difference. Marta is a super sweet person as well and did her job perfectly. I cannot name a single con about our experience with her. I will absolutely make sure to hire her for the next baby. We had her for two weeks but I would have had her for a month if she weren’t booked after us."

  • "I consider Marta our “angel doula.” As a first-time mom, living across the country from both families, of course my husband and I were feeling nervous and clueless about bringing home our first baby. Marta was the perfect person to have in our home the day we arrived home from the hospital. Coming home from the hospital can feel really overwhelming, but Marta helped us all get settled in nicely and start our new life together with confidence. I had some postpartum anxiety and she handled that with warmth, grace, and reassurance. I also was not able to move much due to some birth injuries, and she was great about instructing my husband on how to get everything set up at home, including how to properly feed, bathe, and care for our newborn. I also really appreciated how Marta was good about supporting my husband and me as a team, so that we were learning together. It was great bonding for my husband and me to learn together under Marta, and set a good foundation to start our new life as a family. I would recommend Marta to everyone I know as a postpartum doula, no question about it!"
