Request to Meet Alisha

As a mother of four, Alisha is passionate about empowering and supporting other mothers. A dedicated Birth and Postpartum Doula since 2013, she pursued a nursing degree and discovered her passion for supporting women through childbirth and postpartum care. As a certified doula who has supported dozens of families, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every birth and postpartum journey, fostering a nurturing and informed environment for birthing individuals and their partners. Her journey into birth and postpartum work began with a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of childbirth and the importance of support during this profound life event. She has supported numerous families through various birthing experiences and her postpartum work centers around lactation support, newborn care, and mom’s self-care.

Alisha’s approach is rooted in empathy, education, and advocacy, shaped by seven years of medical malpractice investigation. She also brings her experience as a certified life coach in helping families navigate postpartum challenges, ensuring they don't feel alone or overwhelmed. She strives to create empowering, positive experiences for every family she supports.

  • "Alisha is an excellent advocate who is generous with her time and knowledge, ensuring that both the birthing and support parent were in a good position for the birth experience - before, during, and after. As first-time expecting parents there was a lot to learn even with regard to terminology, medical situations, and the outcomes that we wanted to achieve. Alisha's confidence makes you confident. She's great under pressure and remained communicative throughout our delivery. You can't control how things will unfold on the big day. While we had our best-case scenario planned out, things evolve and we were pressed to navigate changing circumstances when my water broke without any other signs of active labor. This put us on a countdown clock yet we remained calm, opted into certain interventions on our timeline, and were able to achieve the vaginal delivery as intended. We credit this to our preparation and real-time guidance with Alisha."

  • "Alisha is like a baby whisper, being a first time mom I felt very nervous about getting baby soothed and could not figure out what was wrong with my baby or was it me?" Alisha showed me how to listen to my babies cues and helped me listen and watch my babies movements, it was amazing to see she was so on point! I was able to see and learn I had everything my baby needed I just had to learn what her cues and cry's looked like. I was able to tell when my little one needed to change versus oh she's starving."

  • "After 40 hours of labor, when the doctor finally ruled that I needed an emergency C-section due to risk of infection, Alisha held me and comforted me. During the worst moment of my life, she was there. She brought such positive, focused energy into the birthing room. She anticipated my needs before I asked—whether it was water, Jell-O, or rest. She took charge when my husband was terrified and didn’t know what to do. She also has this amazing ice trick for pain relief (I won’t give the details because it’s her secret!), but I will say it saved me during brutal contractions and helped me delay getting the epidural for many hours. She held me during the hardest moment of my life and never let go. Yes, I could have done labor without her—but I’m 100% sure I would’ve been 10 times more traumatized by the experience. I am so grateful, Alisha. Thank you for taking care of me in my darkest moments. I will never forget you."

  • "Lactation was so hard to do comfortably while healing. Alisha had such great techniques and positions, such as my fav, side lying position. I was able to actually lay down and breastfeed without being hunched over and uncomfortable while cramping! It was the best! I actually got to rest and heal while feeding my baby. Hubby was able to do the changes and I alternated sides while baby had safe space around. Alisha made sure I kept up with my own hydration and nutrition. She is truly nurturing and what every mom needs during recovery and postpartum."
