Policies for Families Using Our Platform

Our Role in Your Doula Support: What You Can Expect

We’re honored to help you find the right doula for your family. Our goal is to make the matching process warm, personalized, and stress-free.
Here’s how our platform works.

We Facilitate the Match - Your Doula Provides the Care

We are a platform that connects families with independent doulas. This means:

  • We help you define your needs

  • We present matches

  • We support you during the selection process

Once you choose your doula, your service relationship is directly with them.

Your Contract Is Directly Between You and Your Doula

Once you and the doula decide to work together, the contract is a direct agreement between you and your doula, as an independent contractor.

Questions or Concerns About Care Go Directly to Your Doula

Because your doula is the service provider, they handle:

  • Scheduling

  • Changes in care plans

  • Performance concerns

  • Any conversations about continuing or ending care

  • Refunds or adjustments

We’re always here to help you understand your contract or communicate clearly, but we are not a party to the contract and cannot request refunds or make decisions on a doula’s behalf.

Our Support Role After You Match With a Doula

We remain available to:

  • Clarify contract terms

  • Help you understand what’s typical in postpartum care

  • Offer communication support as needed

  • Provide additional doula match options if your needs change

  • Receive feedback

We do not:

  • Supervise doulas

  • Direct how they provide care

  • Mediate disputes

  • Decide on refunds

Refunds & Unused Hours

Refunds or changes to package hours are handled directly between you and your doula, according to the terms in your specific contract. If a disagreement arises:

  • You discuss the request with your doula

  • We can help you understand the contract language

  • But we cannot intervene or negotiate on either party’s behalf

This ensures fairness and transparency for both doulas and families.

Employer Benefit Programs

  • Many families use employer-sponsored benefits such as Carrot, Maven, Progyny or similar reimbursement programs to cover doula support.

  • Not all doulas qualify for all benefit platforms, and their ability to issue specific forms or meet specific reimbursement requirements may vary.

  • Our platform cannot guarantee reimbursement approval, nor can we require doulas to complete paperwork beyond their normal scope of practice.

  • We encourage clients to confirm their employer’s exact documentation requirements before booking and to communicate any needs early in the matching process so we can help pair you with a doula who is able to meet them when possible.

  • Your doula will provide you with the documentation necessary for reimbursement directly (such as invoices or service summaries).
