Carrie

Carrie is a Postpartum Doula and Full-Spectrum Lactation Educator who trained with Doula Trainings International and Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. Their care work is informed by evidence-based education, a calm and trauma-informed perspective, and a staunch belief in reproductive justice for all bodies.

Carrie’s doula work builds upon the skills they have developed through a lifetime of supporting others through lifecycle transitions. As an ordained marriage officiant who has performed ceremonies for couples across the country, they are passionate about crafting rituals and skilled at guiding families from one chapter to the next. As a former volunteer patient advocate for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, they are a compassionate and nonjudgmental listener who offers resources that best fit an individual’s circumstances and needs. As someone whose parenthood journey began with early miscarriage, they have deep empathy for families who have survived loss, and they volunteer as a peer support group facilitator for an Early Pregnancy Loss group organized by Postpartum Support International.

A Queens resident of nearly twenty years, Carrie lives with their husband and toddler. They enjoy reading, watching movies, and tasting all the delicious cuisines the borough has to offer.

  • "Carrie was so incredibly helpful with our transition home after the birth of our son! They were always willing to assist however was most helpful, whether that was helping with our son's first bath, giving us support and tips as we began nursing, or just babysitting our little one so we could get some rest. Carrie is knowledgeable, reliable, communicative, thoughtful, warm, caring and patient. Those first few weeks home were intimidating but it was really reassuring to have Carrie's help for both the physical and emotional transition of entering parenthood. We 100% recommend their services to anyone looking for some extra assistance as they're entering this new chapter!"

  • "Carrie provided a huge emotional lift for me navigating postpartum recovery and exclusive pumping, and talking out decisions along a great deal of my peripartum journey. I have a real independent streak and in my particular case a lot of the worst stressors weren't present, but sometimes just knowing there's someone there is most of it, and Carrie was the best possible person for it."
