Kate is a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Integrative Lactation Feeding Specialist. She provides inclusive, judgement-free support to all families. There is no one right way to give birth! With one foot in woo and one in medicine, she believes births are unique, depending on the birthing person, their family, their culture, and their ideal birth. Her approach to support is to meet families where they are with parenting styles, including their feeding journey. Kate believes the birth and postpartum periods are beautiful and really vulnerable. She considers it to be a great honor to be present in supporting folks as their families grow.

Kate lives in Flatbush, Brooklyn with her partner Morgan, their baby Clementine and fur-baby Gus. Originally from Philly, Kate comes from a huge family (that has 8 kids and lots of pets) and has been in childcare since her teenage years. She’s worked as a babysitter and nanny throughout her life and birth work was a natural transition. She loves to cook delicious, nutritious postpartum meals for the families she supports! Kate is also a former bartender and comedic improviser and finds both the service industry and improv skills are extremely valuable when it comes to raising a family and supporting others while they do so.

  • “Kate was a wonderful doula from prenatal visits to postpartum! I felt supported during the entire journey of pregnancy into new parenthood. I particularly appreciated Kate’s sense of humor, her groundedness, and her knowledge of labor and birth. I had a very long labor and she supported me the entire time which empowered me to feel calm and capable through labor and delivery. My partner was also very thankful to be able to share caring for me with someone who had been through the birth process before."

  • “We were lucky to have Kate help us out through the postpartum period. She came in confident and took over and that was really needed, can’t stress having the professional support enough. She was great with our baby and made lots of yummy foods, would highly recommend Kate to anyone looking for support!! You won’t regret it.”

  • “Getting meal prep from Doula K8 was one of the best choices our family made in the haze of the postpartum period! We had a meal train and were so grateful for it, but nothing really beat the sense of peace and nourishment we got from being fed by Kate. It was especially great to have a thorough conversation with her before she cooked anything where she asked about our preferences, restrictions, nutritional needs and goals. As the breast feeding parent, I was hungry ALL THE TIME and my partner was struggling to juggle his own new parent feelings and transition, going back to work, and trying to cook for both of us. The meal prep service was not only delicious and convenient, it helped eliminate a source of tension and that is priceless in those early postnatal months!”

  • "Kate was amazing during the last trimester of my pregnancy and through the postpartum period, and especially in the delivery room.I was very anxious about giving birth but she gave me (and my partner) all the tools I needed to feel prepared for it. The first few hours of my birth were very hard but the second Kate walked into the room the vibe completely changed. She managed in just a few minutes to make me go from the most anxious I've ever been to able to "enjoy" the birth process. She advocated for me when I wasn't able to and made sure that everything I wanted was taken into consideration.I truly can't imagine not having had her there."

  • "Kate was such an amazing person to have by our side before, during, and after delivery. She is laidback, funny, and warm - someone you instantly feel comfortable with. That said, she is also a force and will do everything in her power to make sure you are having the delivery experience YOU feel comfortable with. She is a true advocate to her core. After I had my little guy I was a little bit of a wreck and hadn’t gotten the best postpartum support at the hospital. Kate was right there to talk through all of my concerns and offer encouragement and practical suggestions which was so comforting and helpful when I was so overwhelmed. She was also so helpful with all the practical things - groceries, laundry, meals (she’s a fantastic cook), snuggling with our son so we could sleep and shower. She’s the best.I wasn’t totally sure what doulas did at the beginning of my pregnancy, but I can now safely say that everyone should have access to a birth and postpartum doula, and every birthing person in the NY area should have a doula Kateby their side. She’s just the best and really offered me and my family the support we needed."

  • "The moment I learned what a Doula is and how they can help me in my journey ,I knew it was EXACTLY what I needed.I cannot imagine what my experience would have looked like if I didn’t have Kate by my side. She knew how to ground me, how to best help me manage my pain, when to say “you got this” or just to stay silent. My husband was able to feel useful by learning information from our conversations prior to the big day. He was able to sleep while we were in the labor room waiting for the little angel to be born. We love love love our Doula Kate and will always recommend!!"

  • "No words! Kate was unbelievably helpful during the birth of my son. She had a calm presence, brought so much knowledge, and made my husband and me feel comfortable throughout. We could not imagine the process without her and would recommend her services to any birthing parents considering it!"

  • "Kate is a fierce and caring advocate for her clients. Her postpartum advice and resources are spot on. When she came to our home after the baby was born, she helped us process the birthing experience, taught me how to wear a baby carrier and use my breast pump, and so much more! I so appreciate Kate's sense of humor and her own personal parenting anecdotes.I highly recommend Kate if you are looking for a doula!"
