Doula work found Kristen after her own pregnancy and birth journey. She knows how surprising and sometimes frightening bringing a new life into this world can be and wants to help guide expecting parents on thier path. With a background in theatre, psychology, and coaching, she has an acute understanding of how the body and mind’s relaxed state promotes positive outcomes. Her goal is to work with you and your medical team to make your birth a positive experience and a treasured memory. She is currently offering her birth doula services to expecting parents.

When she is not at a birth, she can be found pinned to the couch under her dog, cat, and young son.

  • "From day 1, Kristen was with us to educate, support, prepare and advocate for me AND my partner, young child and infant. We had a high-risk pregnancy and a lot of concerns about communications with the medical teamsShe has a caring touch, a grounding and gentle presence, and all the know-how necessary to make everything go as smoothly as possible.”

  • “From first communication through our postpartum visit, I felt supported by Kristen. I had a lot of complications during and after labor, and she was by our side constantly looking for the best way to support both me and my husband. Her manual pain management techniques were helpful during my contractions and, as my induction continued to (not) progress, she kept me calm as it became clear we were heading into a C-section. Kristen's broad experience with different types of labor and delivery made her a vast resource that helped me stay grounded and empowered throughout the experience.”

  • Kristen was warm and attentive, she is a great listener and was an excellent advocate for me during labor and delivery. She was instrumental in helping my husband and I make a decision to drive to a closer hospital, understanding where I was in the progression of my labor, and arranged for staff at the new hospital to be ready for my arrival. Even with rush-hour traffic, Kristen was able to arrive in time to hold my hand and guide me through pushing (all laboring happened in the car on our way to the hospital which Kristen joined via a call). She pushed for skin-to-skin bonding after a doctor appeared to immediately start procedures on our healthy newborn, which I really appreciated. Beyond everything she is a very compassionate and caring person who is great at her job and would be an invaluable addition to anyone's pregnancy/labor/delivery team.

  • Kristen is all about empowering people and is flexible and open to many and any paths! I appreciated the several home visits (thankfully she was so flexible with my schedule and always responsive) and that she taught me positions and techniques in advance to avoid horrible back labor and turn baby (if needed). The knowledge and confidence this provided is priceless! During labor she provided pain relief with massage/counter pressure with every contraction! She accommodated my request to use Hypnobabies techniques and did so perfectly. It was probably the most empowering day of my life. She was a true advocate between me, hospital staff and partner to meet my needs. In contrast to the last birth I felt strong, trusted my body and knew I was in good hands. I would work with Kristen again and recommend her to all my friends and family.
