LaShanda started her career in birthwork as a postpartum doula because of her passion for the postpartum period. She then went on to pursue and expand her love of breastfeeding and practiced as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for over a decade. She recently resumed her role as postpartum doula supporting families through the transformative early stages of parenthood. Her work is rooted in a deep passion for the postpartum period, a time she believes deserves as much care, attention, and guidance as pregnancy and birth.

LaShanda provides comprehensive postpartum support, including lactation and infant feeding guidance, as well as both daytime and overnight care tailored to each family’s needs. She specializes in helping families confidently navigate feeding, recovery, sleep, and the emotional adjustments that come with welcoming a new baby. Known for her calm and grounding presence, she creates a space where parents feel seen, heard, and empowered to trust themselves.

Her approach is grounded in human development, honoring the biological and emotional needs of infants while supporting the natural instincts of parents. LaShanda blends clinical expertise with intuitive care, offering guidance that is both evidence-based and deeply compassionate. Through her work, she helps families build confidence, strengthen the parent-infant bond, and step fully into their identity as parents.

  • "LaShanda supported our family in the weeks immediately following the birth of our first child, and her care, wisdom, and attentiveness to our household made a huge difference. Those early months can feel overwhelming, and I credit her steady, judgment-free presence with so much of the confidence we developed as first-time parents. She brings a wealth of skill and experience to her work. I couldn’t recommend her more highly."

  • "LaShanda was an incredible source of support during the first few months of our son’s life, and us becoming new parents. As our overnight postpartum doula, she brought a sense of calm and care that allowed us to truly rest. Her expertise as an IBCLC made a meaningful difference in my breastfeeding journey, offering both skilled guidance and encouragement as I shifted to exclusive pumping. Beyond caring for our newborn, she supported us as a whole family. We are so grateful for the lasting relationship we’ve built."

  • "LaShanda went above and beyond for our family and made our experience as first-time parents less scary and more manageable. She was truly heaven-sent. LaShanda’s extensive infant feeding knowledge and experience brought us comfort with our underweight newborn. No matter the challenge, LaShanda knew what to do. She even cared for our son when he caught COVID at one month old. She was always looking out for our well-being as well as our baby’s, including helping me manage my postpartum anxiety. She taught us everything we know, and we are infinitely grateful to have found her."

  • "LaShanda really guided me into motherhood and helped me and my family set up our apartment for our newborn. We already had a setup, but, of course, things changed once we had our son at home, and LaShanda was very good at identifying ways to improve it. She helped organize my breastfeeding corner, so I had everything within reach, set up the changing station and sleeping area, and made sure everything felt functional. She also supported my postpartum recovery, which I really appreciated."
